Anti-Shell protestors in Ireland face fascist Shell security.

The Rossport Solidarity Camp in county Mayo, on the west coast of Ireland,
was set up in 2005 when five local farmers were imprisoned for trying to
protect their land from being destroyed by Shell. A consortium of
multinationals backed by the Irish state and led by Shell is trying to
build a dangerous, experimental raw gas pipeline and inland gas refinery.
Corrupt politicians have done deals with Shell and the other
multinationals meaning that the Irish people will receive none of the
money from this project if it goes ahead.

The locality has huge numbers of Garda�, & Shell security, some of whom
are members of fascist groups, and people are facing increasingly violent
and dangerous attacks. In April Willie Corduff � one of the 5 men who was
imprisoned in 2005 for trying to protect his own land from shell - was
severely beaten at night and hospitalised by Shell�s security during a
truck occupation. This June two local fisherman escaped with their lives
after their boat was boarded and sunk in open sea by 4 armed masked men.
The two men, who were help at gunpoint during the attack, are strong
opponents of the Shell project.

The security firm contracted by Shell to protect the project and to
repress opposition in the area is called Integrated Risk Management
Services (IRMS). There is evidence that people working for IRMS are also
members of fascist groups:

�It has emerged that members of the Szekler Legion, a paramilitary group
which recruits among young ethnic Hungarians in Romania, have worked as
security guards at the Shell Corrib Gas Project construction sites in
recent months� The Szekler Legion have been implicated in violent
incidents in Romania. The group openly promotes neo-fascism and race
hate.� 1

Further evidence of the fascist link to IRMS was revealed by the death of
Michael Dwyer. On 16th April, Dwyer, who was known to have worked for
IRMS at the Shell site in Mayo, Ireland, was killed by Bolivian special
forces, along with two other fascists who were a part of an attempted coup
against president Morales. Dwyer's gang were members of a group
responsible for racist murders and attacks on indigenous Bolivians.2

Shell�s pipeline work is limited to the summer, if resistance can be
sustained work can be halted again this year. The camp is calling for
people to go to Mayo to support the struggle against Shell, and to support
the Shell to Sea campaign in anyway you can from your local area.

Rural Devon Local Election News

The BNP gained nearly four per cent of votes in Ottery a rural ward in east Devon, more than double that of the Labour party, in last week's county council elections.

BNP candidate William O'Hara bagged 181 votes while Labour representative Dorothy Anne Parker managed 69.

Unite Against Facism member Robert Crick said he spent hours in Ottery on polling day campaigning against the BNP.

Robert, next election? Stay the hell away!

Idiot and Con Artist Bennett

The UAF leadership, namely one Weyman Bennett , has once again claimed that his organisation is the leading light in the tradition of militant anti-fascism in Britain today.

Just days after a UAF march led to some of the marchers succesfully chasing Griffin away from a press conference outside the Houses of Parliament, Bennett wasted no time in publicly declaring that the UAF stand firmly in the tradition that previously saw Moseley's Blackshirts smashed of the streets of London in the 1930's.

Bennett is an opportunist and an outright liar.

As a member of the Socialist Workers Party, who have a history of 'self declared leadership' of popular struggles this is hardly surprising.

While eggs may have been thrown last week, in itself hardly a 'militant' act of much pedigree but an act newsworthy enough to prompt a media frenzy, those involved were most likely not themselves members of the UAF, and the lack of media footage of Bennett himself getting 'stuck in' is noticeably absent as always.

The truth is that the SWP and all their political front groups have contributed far more to actually boosting BNP membership than they have to confronting it.

One of the leading groups in the 1980's physically confronting the BNP were Red Action, whose founding members were themselves originally from the SWP and their front group the Anti Nazi League.

These members were expelled for 'Squadism', or put simply, using violence and intimidation to break up meetings, marches and other gatherings of far right groups such as the National Front and the British Movement. The idea behind the tactic was to intimidate groups seen as fascist, without generating media publicity for the far right.

In short they were expelled for being part of the tradition of militant anti-fascism that Bennett is today claiming he and the UAF belong too.

Bennett is happy to co-operate with the state while declairing himself a militant. So much so that a UAF march in Leeds yesterday led by Bennett himself, was halted by the UAF on the request of the police, so that the first Orange Order parade in 40 years could go ahead on time in the same location.

Militant Anti-Fascists Honoured And Remembered.

This week saw gatherings of surviving members of the International Brigades and the 43 Group, both an inspiration to militant anti-fascists around the world who endeavour to never forget our history and continue the struggle against fascism whatever it takes.

After 70 years the Spanish people finally forced their government to honour the sacrifices men and women from Britain and Ireland made when answering the call to arms against the countries Fascists by granting Spanish citizenship to the remaining volunteers.

Surviving members of the 43 Group also met to reminisce and remember their comrades and struggle. The militant anti-fascist organisation, set up by ex-servicemen who had returned from fighting in Europe to find Moseley's fascists marching through the streets of British cities, went on to put fear and terror into the Blackshirts, shutting down hundreds of BUF meetings across the UK by using any means deemed necessary to prevent the fascists spreading their plague across the country.

BNP Activist Gets Visited By Locals

An arson attack at the home of a BNP member in Shrewsbury in the run-up to the local elections is being investigated by West Mercia Police.

Alan Cole, 68, had his union flag in his garden set on fire.

The burning flag was in his words "the final act of a three-night campaign of abuse."

Cole who has been a BNP member for five years, said he had had another flag stolen and his "Vote BNP" posters ripped up and that it was not the first time he has been "abused" for his political beliefs.

He stood unsuccessfully for the BNP two years ago in local elections and during the campaign protesters "broke my wing mirrors, made defamatory posters and put swastikas on the windows," he said.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: "Police are investigating arson after a flag was taken down from the garden of a property in Underdale Road, Shrewsbury, and set alight in the street."

Mr Coles said he has had no trouble since the flag-burning, "apart from Nazi comments in the street", and said he will replace the flag.

Perhaps your neighbours are trying to tell you something Alan....

Nick Griffin...What A Yolk!

It's taken a while for the UAF to get the idea of 'direct action' into their heads but it would appear to be slowly sinking in!

A press conference held by Nick Griffin and Andrew Brons, who were both elected to the European Parliament on Sunday, was hysterically cut short outside Parliament today, a mere two minutes after it started.

With an assortment of papparazzi and TV crews on hand to record the event for posterity, some of the best images in a while were captured of Griffin and his fascist suits coming under attack (of sorts), and legging it to their cars under a hale of eggs courtesy of anti-fascist protesters.

Griffin always loves to surround himself with 'security' who are noticeable by the size of their waistbands and fat necks. These BNP bruisers, with concoctions of steroids dished out by 'head of security Martin Reynolds, certainly build the fat fascist physique, but as we all know they tend to 'shrink the balls', subsequently making the knees buckle and the need for fascist legs to run for cover. So it was again today. A rather bald troll like figure of Reynolds himself can be seen in some of the film footage actually struggling to keep up with the fleeing fascist exodus. Not a very pretty site!

Last time Antifa met the BNP security was in Oxford where the BNP lardies ran and hid in a hotel behind police lines.

Rumours of the Griffin and his crackpots being given the heave-ho soon in a town near you are not to be underestimated.

Just don't laugh...it's no 'yolking' matter!

Fascist Farmer To 'Move On' Amid Cheers From The Local Populace.

The DERBYSHIRE man who hosts an annual festival for the British National Party says he may sell his land and move away.

Alan Warner has allowed his land in Denby to be used for the Red, White and Blue festival twice, with a third event planned to take place in August.

But the pensioner has been the victim of several acts of vandalism � including having his home daubed with a swastika and the words "BNP scum".

He told the Derby Telegraph he had become tired of protestors who vandalised his property.

Mr Warner said: "I should move on � I have had enough. I will be holding it this year but, if I sell the land, the BNP won't be coming back.

"I'm getting my property vandalised, my stuff stolen and my walls painted. I had to install a camera as a security measure."

Mr Warner said he had a flag stolen from his property late last year. It was returned in a jiffy bag with a list of 12 telephone numbers � for undertakers in London.

A gate to his property was also forced shut with two motorcycle locks that he had to saw off to get in and out.

At last year's event, 36 anti-BNP protesters were arrested outside the site in Codnor-Denby Lane.

Derbyshire police spent �250,000 protesters clashed with officers outside the site.

"I understand it's because of my beliefs but I do not go around aggravating people who have got different beliefs to me.

"I believe in what I do. As far as the British people are concerned, I do not think we should have any more immigrants.

"If I'm being targeted for saying that then it's a poor look-out."

Neighbour John Lumsden, who has protested against the festival, said he would be "delighted" if Mr Warner left the village and claimed most other people living nearby would be too.

He said: "I'd love him to leave and take the BNP festival with him, although I'll only believe it when I see it."

But Mr Warner said he had already had an offer for the land and his bungalow and would like to move to the Peak District.

"They seem very interested," he said about the people behind the offer.

"I have met with them twice, but we will have to wait until after the Red, White and Blue Festival."

Police have written to Mr Warner to tell him they believe the site is unsuitable for the festival this year.

But the BNP said it could see no reason to change venues because there had been no trouble on the site itself in the past.

The festival is scheduled to take place in Denby on August 13, 14 and 15.

A police spokeswoman said officers had concerns "based on intelligence we have received and the risk that was caused by last year's violence in the area surrounding the festival".

BNP Elected But Still Hiding Their Fascism Behind Suits

As widely predicted, the BNP managed to score some successes in both the
local elections (with 3 new county councillors) and the Euro elections
(with 2 new MEPs). Leaving aside the fact that the BNP vote did not
increase as much as the scumbags hoped (one-eye only narrowly won in the
north-west), the election of fascists is always bad news - especially the
Euro vote. Having MEPs gives the BNP access to more funds, increases
opportunities to hobnob with fascists from other parts of Europe, and
allows the BNP to claim mainstream political credentials.

Meanwhile, other political parties are keen to be seen to condemn the
BNP's success, no doubt relishing the chance to make their own sorry
politics look more palatable by comparison (which isn't too hard when
you're talking about overt racists).

So, what next? The BNP will no doubt be building on their gains as a
platform for future expansion, still hiding their fascism behind suits and
spin - and so the work of militant anti-fascists continues. Rather than
waste energy agonising over the voting charade, we must concentrate on
stopping the BNP wherever they appear - it's clear to see that the
"democratic process" cannot arrest the creeping spread of fascism, of
which the BNP are the most obvious manifestation. It's up to ordinary
people to show robust opposition to the BNP both physically and
ideologically wherever they try to meet, speak or organise. This must go
hand-in-hand with resisting the repression that ruling parties (of
whatever stripe) will inevitably visit on us as the recession deepens and
the ruling classes try to protect their threatened privileges.

By direct action, we will show that the BNP are not to be tolerated,
whatever successes they may have wangled through the political system.
Fascism will never be acceptable, and militant anti-fascists must ensure
that its growth is stunted by any means necessary.

'Hope Not Hate' Unleash Their Secret Weapon Against The BNP

With only a couple of days to go until the Euro elections, the �Searchlight� front, �Hope Not Hate� (HNH) have unleashed their secret weapon in their campaign to stop people voting for the British National Party (BNP) � The Prime minister!

Beleaguered Gordon Brown was happy to take a photo opportunity with the HNH bus, and to be the prime signatory among politicians and liberal luvvies signing a statement pushing the HNH line. While astute antifascists have always been aware that the real message HNH wished to promote was �Vote Labour�, it is hard to think of a stunt more likely to push voters into the arms of the BNP than the kiss of death from Gordon Brown, the leader of a struggling corrupt government, and the man most people are likely to blame for the current economic crisis. The stunt certainly makes HNH�s real role crystal clear though, as little more than a Trojan horse for New Labour and a cynical attempt to con antiracists into backing a viciously racist authoritarian party in order to prevent the encroach of the viciously racist and authoritarian BNP.

The SWP front �Unite Against Fascism� (UAF) may not be as solidly in the New Labour camp as HNH, but they are still bleating the same tired line � �Don�t WASTE your vote� � As if a chance to put a cross against the name of one scumbag or another has any WORTH. Ordinary people KNOW they are being conned, not only by New Labour and the Tories, but also by the liberal Left, whose credibility in most working-class communities doesn't even rival that of the BNP. If the fascists fail to make a breakthrough in the Euro elections, it will be no thanks to the UAF or �Hope Not Hate�.
